The first Friday in the month and we have a new monthly challenge over at the Creative Artiste Mixed Media Blog. Last month we had so many gorgeous entries it was hard to choose a top 3!

For this month I decided to create an art journal page...
I started by applying acrylic paints using my hands and mixing areas together. Then I added some stencilling along the edge of the page using sparkle paste...
Next more stencilling was applied using a variety of stencils with the turquoise, black and white paint. To create more texture and detail archival ink was used with some pattern stamps in the background as well...
For the main focal image I used the angel stamp from Carabelle Studios. The main figure and the wings were stamped using archival black ink then cut out. I coloured the images using Dina Wakley scribble sticks and water for a softer effect...
Once she had been adhered to the page I stamped and added a sentiment from an Andy Skinner set and then used splashes of watered down gold paint across the page, making sure the angels face was covered first.
