Altered Eclectics: Rusty Door Hanger

Hello again!

I hope you are enjoying the new products from Leonie on HOCHANDA for the One Day Special, they continue today at 9am, 12pm, 4pm and last chance at 7pm.

As it is the first day of a new month it is also the launch of a new challenge at Altered Eclectics.  Please pop over to the blog for a look at the design teams projects and it would be great if you entered too!  Click HERE for the challenge blog.

This is my contribution for the July challenge...

I started with a plain MDF door hanger...

After prepping the base with a coat of white gesso I used an Andy Skinner stencil (Industrial Elements) and TCW (Mini Tiny Circles) to put some light paste onto it...

I then sorted out some metal bits and pieces that I had previously collected and placed them onto the base.  When happy with the arrangement they were stuck down using 3D Matte gel along with some art stones from Powertex...

Once dry this was then covered again with white gesso...

Spray inks were then chosen to add colour, Distress spray stain (Vintage Photo), Lindy's Stamp Gang (Shabby Turbine Teal, Opal Sea Oats)...

Rust paste was then added...

A label was created on the computer and printed out onto card.  Some ink and rust paste were dabbed onto the cardstock.
Finally some patina gilding wax was added...

I will be back on Monday with a mixed media project that was made for the Leonie Pujol launch this week, have a lovely weekend,

Jane x
